Keeping Filnore Woods attractive for people and for wildlife needs a lot of work. Paths need to be maintained. Brambles, thistles and nettles are trying to take over the site and the grass needs cutting at least once a year to encourage the wildflowers. We rely on volunteers to do this valuable work.
We usually meet on the Second Sunday
and the Fourth Wednesday of each month.
Keeping paths open
If you would like to join a work party for a morning or maybe more frequently, just come along. Tools and instructions are provided. We usually work from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm with a coffee break half way through.
You can find the list of Work Morning dates under the Events tab.
We meet at 10.00am by the white container shed visible across the field from the field gate on the far side of Thornbury Leisure Centre car park.
